 "The Road Back to Hell"

This is the bittersweet story of growing up in an extremely dysfunctional home in the 1950's and 1960's. As the oldest child of my biological mother, Bonnie, and my adoptive father, Stew, I was the only daughter who benefited from the strong love my parents shared during the early years of their marriage. Shortly after the birth of my first sibling, Judy, their marriage started to crumble.

The Summer of the Social Butterfly

When I was in tenth grade, my biology teacher referred to me as a 'social butterfly" because I was always talking with the boy next to me during most of the class. Her description amused me at the time. Today, it seems like a very fitting description of my activities over the past two months. I have been flitting from place to place. I spent a week on Chautauqua Lake celebrating my 50th class reunion with old friends; four days in Cape May, New Jersey with two of my closest Brookville friends; a trip to Jamestown for my niece's baby shower and eighteen physical therapy sessions for my torn rotator cuff.

Needless to say, that left very little time for writing blogs. I am truly looking forward to September when this 'social butterfly" can land and stay centered!

I apologize for my hiatus from blog writing and promise to resume my weekly writings in September. I hope you enjoy what is left of this summer!

We enjoyed our afternoon with you at Chautauqua. You have to be a butterfly once in a while. The therapy could not have been much fun pretty butterfly.
