About the Author

Diana Lynn's love of writing began in the summer of 1959, when she spent hours at the James Prendergast Library perusing books and encyclopedias as a way to escape her dysfunctional family life. One day, she was drawn to an article about the tragic life of composer, Stephen Foster, and decided to write a play about him. Her love of writing began at the age of ten while writing this eight-page play. When her fifth-grade teacher, Miss Loretta Funk,  read the play, she made arrangements for Diana's class to present "The Life of Stephen Foster" in the auditorium at CC Ring School. Through Miss Funk's mentoring, guidance, and friendship, Diana's dream to one day become an author, was born.

In the 1950's and 1960's, as her family life rapidly eroded from the traumas of alcoholism, marital affairs, molestations and suicide attempts, Diana found solace in writing. Writing down her personal feelings about these experiences brought her comfort and hope. It was then, the seed was planted to someday write the story of the abnormal family life she led―a story she would share with her family and close personal friends.

While journeying through life, she had locked both the good and the bad memories into the recesses of her mind. At sixty-three, she decided to put them on paper. While writing about the first twenty-seven years of her life, she found the peace, understanding and forgiveness she had been seeking. In 2015, upon completion of her memoir, "The Road Back to Hell", Diana decided to share her story with readers who may have had similar experiences. If her story can convince someone struggling with life's problems to change their mind-set from, "No, I can't" to "Yes, I can", her mission will be accomplished.

Diana was an advertising consultant for over 35 years. She and her husband are co-owners of Mega Rock, WMKX/WJNG-FM in Western Pennsylvania. She has served as President of the Brookville Area Business Association; the Brookville Area Chamber of Commerce; Historic Brookville, Inc., and the Jefferson County Historical Society. In 2002, the Brookville Area Chamber of Commerce presented her with the Walter Dick Award for outstanding community service. She was honored to receive Pennsylvania's 2003 Best 50 Women in Business Award presented by Governor Rendell

She attended yearly writing classes at Chautauqua Institute in Chautauqua, New York.  As a member of the National Association of Memoir Writers, she participated in their Write Your Memoir in Six Months' program in 2013.

Diana lives in Brookville, Pennsylvania, with her husband, Jim and their dog, Beau.
